The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Government Key Account Manager for the US Navy you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Determines directions, priorities and assigns resources with full accountability for results of functional area. Responsible for managing sales targets for assigned customers/area(s)/product line(s). Identifies and defines market/product opportunities to meet sales and growth objectives.
  • Driving growth of 3M solutions at the Nation’s largest military depots and repair facilities.
  • Owning, leveraging and cultivating senior level relationships at assigned accounts to identify business needs / drivers and position 3M solutions for growth.
  • Building and executing channel engagement plans that leverage existing government contracts and market trends (ie, use of small, disadvantaged businesses).
  • Leading 3M Team members at assigned accounts to foster and drive collaboration in the attainment of assigned forecast.
  • Creating, maintaining, and executing pipeline of opportunities and engagements to realize the key sales targets and metrics.
Company Vehicle

This position may require driving a company vehicle if person selected lives in geographic area in which mileage requirements for vehicle would be met. This could require pre‑employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and Three (3) years of account sales experience in a commercial, government, or military environment.
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and Five (5) years of military experience.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Three years of key account sales experience in a government or military environment.
  • Strategic management of product distribution companies.
  • Working cross‑functionally within a complex matrix organization.
  • Experience working as a government employee.
  • Skills include managing through CRM tools, selling skills, and C‑Suite sales.
Work Location

Remote in Sales Territory.

Travel

May include up to 50% domestic travel.
