Job summary

The Salvation Army NSC-Raleigh Area Command in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Kettle Driver for November and December 2026. The role delivers kettles to assigned retail locations, transports paid Bell Ringers, and follows scheduled routes.

You will operate Salvation Army vehicles, assist with pickups, and ensure safe transportation within Wake County. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED (preferred), ability to read and communicate in English, and capability to lift up

Responsibilities

• Delivers and retrieves Red Kettles from assigned retail locations at the beginning and end of bell-ringing shifts.
• Provides transportation for designated paid bell ringers between The Salvation Army church on Wake Forest Road and assigned retail locations.
• Follows daily routes and schedules assigned by the Kettle Coordinator.
• Conducts regular check-ins with paid bell ringers along assigned routes to verify attendance, provide support, and address any issues.
• Operates Salvation Army vehicles to transport donated gifts, stockings, and other Christmas program items from churches, businesses, and designated collection sites to the Christmas warehouse.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Schedule/Hours: Seasonal Full Time, November and December 2026

The position is responsible for: Delivers kettles to assigned retail locations within Wake County and picks up kettles at the end of each shift. Provides transportation for paid Bell Ringers to and from assigned location.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivers and retrieves Red Kettles from assigned retail locations at the beginning and end of bell-ringing shifts.
• Provides transportation for designated paid bell ringers between The Salvation Army church on Wake Forest Road and assigned retail locations.
• Follows daily routes and schedules assigned by the Kettle Coordinator.
• Conducts regular check-ins with paid bell ringers along assigned routes to verify attendance, provide support, and address any issues. Reports concerns promptly to the Kettle Coordinator.
• Operates Salvation Army vehicles to transport donated gifts, stockings, and other Christmas program items from churches, businesses, and designated collection sites to the Christmas warehouse.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to drive a large van or minibus.
• Ability to use a smart phone and follow map routes.
• Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
• Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing and climbing as well as lift and carry and/or push/pull moderate (25 – 50 lbs) and possibly heavy (50-100 lbs) materials and donations.
• Work is performed in a vehicle with exposure to outdoor temperatures and a warehouse with exposure to dirt, dust and/or disagreeable sights and orders.
