Broadview is seeking a Production Lead/Batch Maker to back up the Production Supervisor and coordinate daily manufacturing activities. The role focuses on producing batches in spec, maintaining documentation, and ensuring a clean, compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-train in related production areas and support inventory control.
  • Support safety and housekeeping programs and use equipment like scales, pumps, valves, and knives as needed.
  • Act as backup to other team members and communicate with Supervisors on priorities.

Production Lead/Batch Maker
Production Team Member
Hours: M-TH: 2am - 2pm

The Lead in a production room is the backup to the Production Supervisor. He is responsible for the duties of the Production Supervisor in his absence. The Production Lead assists the Production Supervisor in coordinating activities of workers engaged in the manufacturing processes, utilizing knowledge of equipment, procedures and specifications. Confers with Production Supervisor or Plant Manager to review schedules, specifications and priorities to plan departmental work assignments. He is responsible for producing batches of product, in specification with the proper documentation to ensure the highest level of quality that meets customer needs while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Understand written and verbal instructions to complete assembly of products. Follow the “Manufacture Procedures”, guidelines and quality standards that are provided by the Compounding Foreman.
  • Have full understanding of Automation System and gun scanners.
  • Explains and demonstrates procedures and techniques to other team members.
  • Assists team members in resolving problems and advises Compounding Foreman of complex issues.
  • Understand specific and consistent work procedures to satisfy production needs as a team within own department.
  • Understand use of equipment like scales, pumps, valves, knife and basic maintenance tools.
  • Manage basic inventory knowledge, read labels and identify Lot #’s, Material #’s and common sense to identify if raw materials look good to use. Communicate inventory levels to other team members.
  • Understand use of Lot #’s and Material #’s, ensuring that numbers always match current information sheets.
  • Cross train in other work areas within your own department and possibly in other departments.
  • If authorized, may require forklift experience.
  • Identify any processing issues and report them to other team members and Foreman.
  • Act as backup to other team members in their absence.
Safety & GMP Objectives
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with established policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all company safety and environment policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA, EPA and other rules and regulations (THINK “SAFETY FIRST”).

*Ability to recognize unsafe acts and conditions in the facility and implement appropriate corrective actions.

*Ability to fully complete appropriate paperwork related to specific job functions in addition to quality and safety/training.

*Complete all annual training.

*Ability to recognize and report all incidents; even those that do not warrant treatment.

  • Review and execute our Food Safety Plan and MFP Mission Statement in order to provide value to each of our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products; while never compromising quality.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.
