This position is responsible for overseeing the daily care and wellbeing of boarding pets while maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.The ideal candidate has a genuine love for animals, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent care to dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.ResponsibilitiesFeed, water, and monitor boarding petsWalk and exercise dogs as scheduledAdminister medications as directedBathe pets, including those that may be fearful or resistantMonitor pets for signs of illness, injury, stress, or distressNotify veterinary staff of any concerns regarding a pet's conditionKeep patients clean, dry, comfortable, and safe during their stayClean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and common areas dailyMaintain cleanliness of kennel grounds and facilityRemove trash, sweep, mop, and perform general housekeeping dutiesLaunder bedding, towels, and surgical linensFollow all hospital policies and proceduresHelp ensure a positive experience for pets and their ownersQualificationsMust have a strong love for animals and commitment to their carePrevious kennel, animal care, veterinary, boarding, or daycare experience preferredAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and observation skillsReliable transportation is requiredMust be punctual and dependableMust be comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperamentsAbility to stand, bend, lift, walk, and work in a physically demanding environmentWorking ConditionsThis position requires:Exposure to animal odors, noises, and wasteHandling pets that may be fearful, stressed, or aggressivePotential exposure to bites and scratchesRegular cleaning and sanitation dutiesWorking both indoors and outdoors as neededSchedule RequirementsMust be available to work weekends and holidaysFlexible scheduling based on boarding needs and hospital operationsFull-Time$10.00 - $13.00 per hour, based on experienceAt AmeriVet, we’re committed to your growth, development, well-being, and success.
