Job summary

Copperfield Dog in Houston, TX is seeking a reliable Kennel Tech to join our busy pet care team. You will care for boarding and daycare dogs, keep kennels clean, and support grooming/front-desk operations.

On-the-job training provided for the right candidate who loves dogs and works well with a team. Key requirements include a genuine love for dogs, ability to work weekends/holidays, physical stamina, and good English communication.

Qualifications

• Genuine love for dogs and calm, patient attitude with all temperaments.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Physically able to stand for long hours, lift up to 50–60 lbs, and work indoors/outdoors in Texas weather.
• Reliable transportation, punctual and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, and administer medication per owner instructions; keep accurate care logs.
• Clean, sanitize and disinfect kennels, runs, play yards, dishes and laundry.
• Walk dogs, supervise group play, monitor dog behavior and report signs of stress or illness.
• Assist with dog intake/discharge, take photos/videos for updates to pet parents.
• Help with basic bathing, nail trims and kennel area maintenance as needed.
• Follow safety and cleaning protocols; maintain a tidy facility.
• Work cooperatively with grooming and front-desk staff; perform other duties as assigned.
