Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts, part of National Veterinary Associates, is seeking a Full-Time Kennel Technician (Pet Pro) in New Jersey to care for dogs and cats in daycare and boarding, keeping spaces clean and safe.

You’ll walk dogs, feed and medicate as needed, monitor behavior, document notes, and engage pets with enrichment activities. Weekend and holiday availability is required; training provided.

Qualifications

• Must love animals and be comfortable around dogs and cats.
• Able to stand, walk, and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Excellent documentation and communication with team and pet parents.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs and supervise playgroups.
• Feed pets and administer medications as needed.
• Clean and sanitize pet rooms and common areas.
• Monitor pet health, behavior, and interactions.
• Document care notes and communicate with leadership.
• Engage pets in enrichment activities like walks and basic games.
• Comfort shy guests and manage high-energy groups.
• Assist with laundry and facility upkeep.

We’re looking for a Full-Time Kennel Technician (internally called a Pet Pro) to join our team and care for our furry guests at their home away from home.

What You’ll Do

As a Pet Pro, you’ll be hands-on in both daycare and boarding, providing safe, loving care while keeping our resort clean and welcoming.

Your day may include:

• Walking dogs and supervising playgroups
• Feeding pets and administering medications
• Cleaning and sanitizing pet rooms and common areas
• Monitoring pet health, behavior, and interactions
• Documenting care notes and communicating with leadership
• Engaging pets in enrichment activities like fetch, walks, and basic obedience games
• Comforting shy guests and managing high-energy groups
• Laundry and general facility upkeep
• And yes — you’ll scoop poop, clean messes, o home with fur on your clothes, and probably get plenty of sloppy kisses.

What We’re Looking For

• We’re seeking someone who is:
• Passionate about dogs and cats
• Gentle, patient, and safety-focused
• Comfortable supervising multiple dogs at once
• Able to recognize and prevent conflicts in playgroups
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
• Friendly and comfortable speaking with pet parents
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

You must be able to:

• Stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs
• Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures
• Handle large and small dogs confidently
• Work weekends and holidays
• Be comfortable around pet messes and cleaning products
