Job summary

Mission Pet Health, operating the Pet Care Center in Metairie, LA, provides AAHA-accredited, high-quality care for small animals seven days a week. Our team includes seven DVMs and a Lead Veterinarian, delivering comprehensive services from wellness and prevention to advanced diagnostics and emergency care.

Qualifications

• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
• Reliable and hardworking with the ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 50+ lbs and perform duties of an active role.
• Previous kennel assistant experience preferred; flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care as the primary caregiver for boarding and daycare pets, ensuring proper food, exercise, and comfort.
• Be the eyes and ears of animal health by monitoring behavior and promptly notifying the medical team of concerns.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment across kennels, runs, and outdoor areas.
• Support operational excellence by managing inventory and coordinating with the team to complete tasks.
