Job summary

Crain Veterinary Center in Grain Valley, Missouri, is seeking a Kennel Attendant to care for hospitalized and boarded animals and support kennel operations. You will interact with the clinical team, assist with routine duties, and contribute to a safe, clean kennel that emphasizes animal welfare and customer service. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with animals preferred.
• Customer service oriented attitude.
• Strong organizational skills and teamwork.
• Available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarded animals.
• Bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring behavior.
• Assist with kennel maintenance and cleaning.
• Report health or behavior changes to Vet or Hospital Manager.
• Maintain animal records (weight, treatments, medications, food intake).
• Perform other duties as assigned by Doctor/Hospital Manager/Kennel Manager.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry.

Kennel Attendant
Crain Veterinary Center (Grain Valley, Missouri)

Summary: Crain Veterinary Center is a small animal practice located in Grain Valley, Missouri. We are full service veterinary hospital as well as a boarding and daycare facility.

Position: The Kennel Attendant position is a key role for our kennel that provides daily care for our hospitalized and boarded animals, as well as assist with kennel maintenance. The position involves cleaning, bathing, grooming, exercising and feeding the animals in our facility. The Attendant is also responsible for cleaning cages, administering medication, and monitoring the behavior of our dogs and cats. The role interacts with the clinical team, clients and supports our customer focused environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Daily care for all animals in our care
• Bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring behavior
• Assist with kennel maintenance and cleaning
• Reporting changes in animal behavior, health or concerns to Vet or Hospital Manager
• Maintaining animal records, such as weight, physical condition, treatments received, medications given, and food intake and other potential data as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Doctor/Hospital Manager/Kennel Manager
• Washing, drying, and folding laundry
• Must be able to lift 50lbs or more, stoop, bend and stand on feet for long periods.
