Job summary

VCA Animal Wellness Center is seeking a Kennel Attendant for part-time, with possible full-time afternoon/evening and some mornings opportunities in Maple Grove, MN. You will care for dogs, cats and other companion animals, feed, water, clean, walk, bathe and monitor well-being with a focus on low-stress handling.

Responsibilities

• Care for pets in the boarding facility: feeding, watering, cleaning, walking and monitoring well-being.
• Monitor pets for signs of distress or disease and report to team as needed.
• Assist with gentle, low-stress handling and compassionate care during boarding.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and staff to maintain a positive client experience.

Job Description

Kennel Attendants are responsible for the day-to-day care of pets in our boarding facility. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing and monitoring the well-being of dogs, cats and, occasionally, other companion animals. Kennel Attendants must have sufficient physical strength, mobility and stamina to lift and or move heavy pets and objects, the dexterity and confidence to administer medications, and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. It is essential that they have the willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for pets in the boarding facility. Kennel experience is not always a prerequisite for this position.
