Job summary

Steico Industries, Inc., a company of Senior Plc, is seeking a KanBan Operator in Oceanside, CA. The role involves processing parts through the Kanban production area, cutting, deburring, facing ends, and logging job details in ERP systems.

The position supports lean manufacturing and safety guidelines with an early morning shift. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, basic math, and the ability to wear PPE such as respirators and safety glasses.

Responsibilities

• Cutting material to length with horizontal/chop saws based on start dates on the daily cut list.
• Facing of tube ends using end finish machines and square ends.
• Deburring of tube ends using deburr machine.
• Trimming straight tubes to customer required length using calipers.
• Logging of jobs in KPI/ERP systems.
• Bundle and load jobs to Bend staging racks.
• Performing equipment preventative maintenance.
• Maintaining 5’s + Safety of department.
• Meeting department productivity goals.
• Using required PPE for the department.
• Other duties as needed by business.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 an hour depending on experience

As a KanBan Operator you will:

Processing parts through the Kanban production area including cutting of material to specific lengths using horizontal band saws and chop saws as well as facing and deburring of tubes.

What will my responsibilities include?

• Cutting material to length with horizontal/chop saws based off start dates on the daily cut list. Responsible for setting the length using the saw length guide and cut the amount of tubes needed for the job as specified on the job traveler.
• Facing of tube ends using 2CP/3CP end finish machines. This includes picking up the tube, placing it in the dies located inside the jaws of the machine, closing the jaws around the tube and cycling the facing arbor to square the end of the tube
• Deburring of tube ends using deburr machine that uses an arbor with sharp edges. This includes picking up the tube and positioning the tube inside diameter (ID) on the ID deburr tool and then on outside diameter (OD) deburr tool within the machine
• Trimming straight tubes to customer required length using calipers to measure for accuracy
• Logging of jobs that are completed in the KPI/ERP systems
• Bundle and load jobs to Bend staging racks sorted by job number, material type, quantity and center line radius
• Performing equipment preventative maintenance. This includes, but is not limited to, checking of the belts on 2CP/3CP end finish machine for wear, adding lubrication to machines, inspecting and replacing saw blades, if needed
• Maintaining 5’s + Safety of department
• Meeting goals established in department for productivity
• Using required PPE required for the department
• Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate

What key skills and experience do I need?

• Requires the ability communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, easily understood manner
• Requires English verbal and written skills
• Ability to wear special PPE required to do the job (respirators and safety glasses)
