Job summary

Talent Groups in Jersey City is seeking an experienced Kafka Administrator / Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain highly available Kafka environments supporting real-time data platforms.

You will manage production Kafka clusters, implement security measures, and collaborate with SREs to ensure reliability. Proficiency in Python or Bash and Linux administration is required, with hands-on experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Kafka administration experience.
• Experience managing production Kafka clusters.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Kafka security: ACLs, authentication, authorization.
• Monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana for Kafka.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on Kafka administration experience, preferably Confluent Kafka.
• Strong experience managing production Kafka clusters.
• Advanced knowledge of Kafka ecosystem components:
• Kafka Connect
• Kafka Streams
• Schema Registry
• MirrorMaker
• ZooKeeper
• KRaft
• Strong Linux administration experience, preferably RHEL and/or Ubuntu.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Bash/Shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka security, ACLs, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for Kafka monitoring and observability.
• Experience with Ansible and/or Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
