Job summary

Nation Security Services LLC is seeking highly qualified K9 Owner-Handlers who own and work certified Explosive Detection Canines to support operational security across major cargo facilities, aviation hubs, and commercial ports. In this specialized role, you and your working canine will deploy as a team to perform systematic detection screenings in fast-paced operational environments.

The starting pay rate is $35.00 per hour with full-time engagement and rotating shift patterns across Florida

Qualifications

• Must personally own a certified or certifiable Explosive Detection Canine (50–90 lbs) with high environmental stability.
• Canine must be in good health and current on all required vaccinations; vet records available on request.
• Minimum 2+ years of EDC handler experience in military, law enforcement, or high-tier private security.
• Fluent in English; bilingual fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• U.S. Citizen or National with a High School Diploma or GED; background check and credentials required.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean record and safe transport capabilities for K9s.
• Full availability for rotating shifts and regional deployment travel across Florida.

• Screening & Operations: Conduct systematic, high-vigilance explosive detection sweeps across air/sea cargo facilities, logistics hubs, and commercial venues.
• Canine Care & Maintenance: Maintain 24/7 care, feeding, physical conditioning, and home housing for your working canine in accordance with company welfare standards.
• Proficiency & Decoy Drills: Perform daily odor detection scenarios to ensure your K9 maintains peak search proficiency for regulatory and third-party certifications.
• Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate search logs, training records, and incident reports in full alignment with TSA, 3PK9, state, and federal standards.
• Site Relations: Communicate professionally with cargo facility directors, airport authorities, venue managers, and internal dispatch teams.

Position Qualifications & Requirements

K9 Health & Records: Canine must be in good health and current on all required vaccinations. Veterinarian records must be presented upon request.

Operational Experience: Minimum 2+ years of EDC handler experience in military (MWD), law enforcement, or high-tier private contract security. Documented 3rd Party Cargo experience and certifications (e.g., 3PK9-C) are a strong plus.

Bilingual Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken). Bilingual fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Legal & Vetting: U.S. Citizen or National with a High School Diploma or GED. Must pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and secure site credentials (e.g., SIDA, TWIC).

Logistics & Equipment: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record, a personal vehicle suitable for safe K9 transport, and home housing meeting strict security and climate-control standards.

Availability & Travel: Full availability for flexible, rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays) and regional deployment travel across Florida client sites.
