Job summary

GK9PG in Alabama seeks a Handler Commercial Training Lead to serve as the primary on-site training resource for K9 detection teams supporting AL-DOC. You will develop and deliver hands-on instruction, oversee narcotics detection training, and maintain proficiency and certification readiness across teams.

Reporting to the Site Lead, you will coach handlers, identify performance gaps, coordinate training schedules, ensure compliance with GK9PG and AL-DOC standards, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a K9 handler or trainer.
• Graduate of or certified by an accredited K9 training school.
• Citizen or national of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on instruction to handlers and canines to build narcotics detection proficiency.
• Plan and lead local proficiency training sessions and field practice events.
• Mentor handlers with clear, constructive feedback.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with GK9PG and AL-DOC standards.
• Identify performance gaps early and develop remedial training plans.
