Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a Foreman to supervise and coordinate skilled trades staff across multiple shifts. You will assign work, train employees, and ensure compliance with drawings and procedures, while mentoring teams to improve quality and productivity.

Qualifying candidates offer a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent trade certification with relevant manufacturing or shipbuilding experience. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for new Foreman hires.

The Role

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to Foreman new hires. Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree OR
• Apprentice Certification OR
• High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR
• Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
