Jefferson Parish Schools–WOODS ELEMENTARY in Kenner, LA seeks a K-8 Teacher (Target Content + Target School) to deliver high-quality instruction and manage records. A $2,000 stipend is available for choosing a target school in the first year.

Must hold a Louisiana Level 1+ Teaching Certificate or Out of State Certification in the content area, plus a college degree. Responsibilities include lesson planning, family communication, and student growth support.

Qualifications

• A teacher must be able to effectively communicate English both orally and in writing.
• To receive the target content stipend, the teacher must hold a Louisiana Level 1+ Teaching Certificate or Out of State Certification in content area.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mental, physical, emotional and social growth of any student assigned.
• Uses available instructional materials and a variety of techniques in providing opportunities for student achievement and development.
• Keeps accurate, neat records including class lists, attendance, health records, roll book, report cards, and permanent folders.
• Develops and implements proper classroom management techniques.
• Plans and prepares for classes, submitting lesson plans weekly.
• Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work locations.
• Communicates with parents regarding student progress and needs.
