Job summary

Building Connections Academy seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to deliver specialized instruction for K–8 students with disabilities. You will develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with families, and coordinate with BCBAs, paraprofessionals, and school staff to ensure access to appropriate educational opportunities and progress toward individual goals.

Qualifications

• Clear DOJ/FBI background check.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate or ESN) or approved out-of-state equivalent.
• Patience, flexibility, and a compassionate approach with students with disabilities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Required immunizations including MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hep B, and TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support K–8 students with disabilities in inclusive and specialized settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs based on student needs and goals.
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide instruction across academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to deliver accommodations.
• Design and deliver project-based lessons aligned with California standards.
