Job summary

Think Zone Learning Center in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a part-time Math Tutor to support K–8 students with personalized, one-on-one instruction. The role emphasizes clear explanations, patience, and a passion for helping students build confidence and skills in math and English.

This position runs June 2, 2026 through December 31, 2026 with 2–4 hours per day, three days a week, and pay of $20 per hour. Additional hours may be available, making this a flexible entry into TAL Education Group's

Qualifications

• Strong math proficiency with ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Clear communication to explain math concepts in an easy-to-understand way.
• Patience and empathy when working with students of varying ages and abilities.
• Ability to personalize instruction based on individual student needs and progress.
• Strong organizational skills to track student performance and manage learning plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, one-on-one math instruction to K–8 students based on their learning needs.
• Assess student understanding and adapt teaching pace to different styles and abilities.
• Use Think Zone curriculum resources to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
• Foster a supportive environment that builds student confidence and a positive attitude toward mathematics.
• Help students develop foundational math skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Track student progress and provide regular feedback to support growth and celebrate achievements.
• Maintain professional and positive communication with parents and students.
