Job summary

Alpha School is hiring counselors to lead life-skills workshops for K-8 students, run motivation sessions, and oversee mastery assessments using Coachbot analytics. The role emphasizes high standards, active engagement, and personal mentorship to help students reach their weekly goals.

You will work on-site at Alpha campuses, with relocation support for various locations, and will be part of a team focused on a radically better school experience.

Qualifications

• Willing to work in person at an Alpha campus
• Bachelor's degree in any subject
• At least 3 years working directly with K-8 students
• Comfortable using adaptive learning software to deliver instruction
• Strong record of high achievement and ability to maintain high standards
• Stage presence to manage a room of 12-year-olds
• Legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts on public speaking, focus, and feedback
• Conduct daily 1:1 and small-group motivation sessions using Coachbot analytics
• Administer the Test2Pass mastery assessment and re-coach until mastery
• Adapt workshop playbooks and create new sessions for different age groups
• Be the adult who upholds standards and is a trusted confidant for students
