Salary ranges from $65,178 to $125,654 per year under the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Minimum BA or MA in Music or Music Education
• Massachusetts Teaching Certification Music Education K-12
• Ability to work with musicians at all skill levels
• Strong instrumental skills, including piano accompaniment
• Orff, Kodaly, or Dalcroze training strongly encouraged

Responsibilities

• Teaches general music to K-8th grade, including harmony, appreciation, history, and ensemble.
• Plans, rehearses, and directs students in school musical programs and community events.
• Differentiates music curriculum to meet individual student needs and organizes daily class time.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly environment during practice and performances.
• Communicates progress to parents and staff; manages school-owned music and equipment.
