Job summary

St. William Catholic School is seeking a caring and dependable building substitute to support students and teachers from kindergarten through eighth grade. The role combines classroom paraprofessional duties with stepping in as a substitute teacher when needed, in a Christ-centered setting.

The position emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to evolving classroom needs while upholding the school’s Catholic mission and values.

Qualifications

• Teaching degree is preferred.
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students is desirable.
• Patience, flexibility, and a caring approach to working with children.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Dependability and a willingness to serve wherever support is needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to help students participate in classroom learning.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, routines, and student supervision.
• Support students with diverse learning needs in collaboration with classroom teachers and student support staff.
• Serve as a substitute teacher when needed, following lesson plans and maintaining classroom expectations.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment.
• Adapt to changing assignments and work collaboratively with staff across grades K-8.
• Support the Catholic mission and values of St. William Catholic School.
