Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible for a MA DESE license in Foreign Language - Spanish, PK-6.
• Demonstrated Advanced proficiency in Spanish, with Advanced Mid or higher preferred, per ACTFL guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high level of technology proficiency.
• Ability to support student safety and school property; participate in drills as required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide proficiency-focused Spanish instruction aligned with ACTFL and MA World Languages Framework.
• Use Spanish as the primary language of instruction with supports for access.
• Create engaging experiences developing interpersonal, interpretive, presentational, and intercultural skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and assessments.
• Instruct grades K–5 in Spanish during class time and at designated locations.
• Plan instruction to meet individual student needs and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Maintain records, assess progress, and communicate with parents as required.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers; participate in staff meetings and department initiatives.
