Diocese of Joliet Catholic Schools invites applications for a Part-time PE Teacher (K-5) at St. Mary Catholic School in Mokena. The position is available September 2026 with salary range $31,824–$58,352 prorated based on FTE.

Candidates must hold Illinois PEL or reciprocal license and preferably be practicing Catholics. Annual pay reflects teaching experience and education, with paid personal leave days. Strict adherence to professional ethics and Catholic identity training is required.

Qualifications

• Requires current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or valid out-of-state certificate with reciprocity.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline.
• Practicing Catholic preferred for teaching religion/theology.

Responsibilities

• Instruct children in assigned subjects, guide and adjust instruction to meet needs.
• Attend faculty meetings and in-service trainings; participate in diocesan committees as needed.
• Communicate with parents and collaborate with staff to support student growth and well-being.

Education

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or valid out-of-state certificate with reciprocity

Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education

Practicing Catholic (preferred, required to teach religion or theology courses)
