Job summary

Florida State University Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support students under the direction of certified staff in classrooms and other school settings. You will assist with instructional activities, supervise students, and provide one-on-one or small group support to promote academic success and positive social outcomes.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, managing routines, and collaborating with teachers to implement IEP accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts introduced by the teacher.
• Support students with special needs by implementing IEP accommodations and modifications as directed.
• Assist with classroom management by monitoring student behavior and promoting a safe and respectful environment.
• Help with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom organization.
• Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and school events.
• Provide clerical support such as photocopying, filing, and data entry as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Participate in training and professional development activities as required.
