Job summary

Cumberland County Schools in Hope Mills, NC is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and student activities. The role requires assisting the teacher, supervising students, preparing materials, and helping with attendance and discipline as needed.

Applicants must meet educational requirements or WorkKeys criteria and obtain/maintain a CDL bus license when needed. The position reports to the Principal and assigned teachers at Baldwin Elementary.

Qualifications

• Resume and one of the specified transcripts or WorkKeys are required to qualify.
• WorkKeys scores: Reading, Writing, and Math requirements apply if using 24+ credits.
• CDL Bus license must be obtained and maintained when called upon to drive.

Responsibilities

• Gives group instruction as prescribed by the teacher; provides individualized instruction.
• Demonstrates instructional activities and checks student work for progress.
• Praises and reinforces achievement; reports student progress to the teacher.
• Prepares visual aids and distributes materials; maintains attendance records.
• Proctors testing, assists with discipline, and supervises students in class and other locations.
• Operates as a team member to support school goals and student learning.
