Job summary

Dallas ISD invites applications for an anticipated ESL Teacher (Grades: K-4). You will develop lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum, accommodate diverse learning styles, and present material per TEA guidelines. A Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate are required.

You will establish behavior expectations, assess student progress, communicate with parents, and collaborate with campus staff. This campus-based role requires regular attendance with no remote option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for the subject and level.
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to follow specific instructions with little or no prior experience.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines, board policies, and regulations.
• Willingness to stay current with latest developments in the profession.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for diverse learning styles.
• Present material according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Establish and maintain pupil behavior standards.
• Evaluate and record student progress and report to parents as needed.
• Teach within the course of study for the subject and grade level.
• Provide lesson plans for substitutes and engage diverse learning experiences.
• Collaborate with staff to assess and support student health, attitude, and learning needs.
• Counsel students and parents before and after school when needed.
• Participate in open houses/PTA activities to communicate educational programs.
