George Washington Carver Academy is hiring a K-3rd Grade Teacher to join the team for the 26/27 school year. Must have Michigan Teacher Certification and endorsement.

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated K-3 Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The K-3 Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to student development and a desire to foster a love for learning in young children.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

• Develop and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
• Regular and predictable attendance

Cognitive Demands

• Supervision of multiple students at once
• Establishing routines and procedures

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs

• Assist/lift students, as necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
