Responsibilities

• Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the district's philosophy, goals and objectives; creates purposeful lesson plans and uses effective teaching strategies.
• Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and assists in curriculum revision and selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
• Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and discipline techniques; supervises students and coordinates tasks.
• Upholds board policy and communicates positively with the public; works with parents to support students' education.
• Continues professional growth through workshops or advanced coursework and participates in staff and committee meetings.
• Evaluates student progress using multiple assessment methods and adjusts instruction accordingly; maintains confidentiality of records.
