Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is hiring qualified teachers for K-12 classrooms. A valid Hawaii Special Education Mild/Moderate license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board is required, with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree to apply.

If you are hired without completing a Teacher Education Program, you have up to 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license. You must enroll in a Program to continue employment and demonstrate progress toward licensing, as outlined by HTSB.

Qualifications

• Valid Special Education Mild/Moderate license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
• Minimum qualification to apply is a Bachelor's Degree.
• If hired without a Teacher Education Program, up to 3 years to obtain licensure.
• Enrollment in a program is required to continue employment with the Department.
• Upon hire, a Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is needed.
