Qualifications

• NC State Certification 026 as a School Psychologist.
• Master's Degree in Psychology.
• Ph.D. in Psychology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychological assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations to maximize learning.
• Provides individual, group or facilitative therapy as needed.
• Assists with identification and placement of exceptional students.
• Coordinates with admins and teachers to identify abilities and needs.
• Attends IEP meetings for students with special needs.
• Serves as resource on mental health and conducts in-service programs.
• Supports dropout prevention efforts.
• Offers counseling to promote student growth and maturity.
• Keeps professional knowledge up-to-date through seminars and research.
• Maintains records and shares student information per rules.
• Encourages parental involvement and effective communication with families.
