Job summary

Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, MA is seeking a JV2 Baseball Head Coach to lead the athletic program, organize practices, and ensure student-athlete safety and discipline. The role reports to the Athletic Director and carries a stipend with responsibilities spanning coaching, supervision, and community engagement.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a commitment to growth, and the ability to manage diverse tasks within school and district policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise all levels of a sport program.

• Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid MA Driver’s License.
• Previous successful coaching experience preferred.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE)

The purpose of this position is to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the students shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, sportsmanship and service to others.

• May conduct and analyzes scouting reports
• Assists student-athletes in college advancement
• Maintains and inventories all equipment and supplies
• Other duties as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in a school environment outside of the school day.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the coach is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The coach is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The coach is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building.
