Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
• Current Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Have a valid driver’s license and qualify under the district’s insurance carrier when driving a district vehicle.
• Have a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint card.

Responsabilidades

Formação académica

JV Basketball Assistant Coach Job Description

Head Coach Stipend: $2,500

Purpose: The Basketball Assistant Coach promotes an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Assisant Basketball Coach provides leadership and supervision for the team and works closely with the other staff and administration of the district.

Responsible to: Activities Director and Principal.

Qualifications

• 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
• 3. Current Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred.
• 4. Have a valid driver’s license, be able to drive, and qualify under the district’s insurance carrier when driving a district vehicle.
• 5. Have a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint card.

Essential Functions

• 1. Coordinate and supervise Basketball program and team.
• 2. Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• 3. Design a training program and game program.
• 4. Organize and supervise the coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented.
• 5. Ensure that all athletic activities conform to AIA guidelines.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

• 1. Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
• 2. Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
• 3. Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.
• 4. Requires some travel.
• 5. Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
• 6. Must work in noisy and crowded environments.

Head Basketball Coach General Responsibilities

• 1. Coordinate and supervise High School Basketball program and team.
• 2. Help students achieve gains in athletic skills and team performance.
• 3. Design a training program and game program.
• 4. Train assistant coaches in techniques, skills, philosophy, rules, and strategies.
• 5. Responsible for assisting the Activities Director with scheduling of the following: a. game schedules b. practice schedules c. transportation d. meal arrangements.
• 6. Attend Arizona State High School Activities A.I.A rules meetings.
• 7. Ensure the continual supervision of student athletes on the court, in conditioning, and in locker and shower rooms.
• 8. Ensure that health and safety precautions are observed during all activities.
• 9. Immediately report all major injuries incurred during practice sessions or competition to the Activities Director and/or Principal.
• 10. Submit a complete team roster to the Athletic Director prior to the first contest. The following items are to be included: player's name, year in school, height, weight, and uniform number.
• 11. Submit a written report of team records to the Athletic Director at the close of each season.
• 12. Present a letter of recognition (emblem) to all athletes who meet the necessary requirements.
• 13. See that district policies are observed during all activities.
• 14. Other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or Principal.
