County of Montgomery, AL seeks candidates for a legal, social and crisis role within the Family Court. Work spans intake and probation divisions, handling delinquency, dependency and youth supervision cases.
The position requires a four-year degree in a behavioral or social science (or master’s), plus related experience. Candidates must meet certification and background requirements and be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends as part of public service.
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies
This is legal, social and crisis work involving delinquency, dependency and cases involving children in need of supervision under the jurisdiction and supervision of the Family Court. Employees are assigned to work in the Intake or Probation division.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science field such as sociology, psychology, law enforcement, criminal justice, corrections, counseling, or social work AND six (6) months experience in juvenile court or social service related field; or a master's degree in the behavioral science field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE:� Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Alabama Driver's License. Ability to obtain and maintain an Administrative Office of Courts (AOC) certificate. May be required to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends and be on call. May be required to transport juveniles in county vehicles. Must have good moral character and have no record of convictions of misdemeanor or felony involving violence, force or moral turpitude. Must be willing to submit to a thorough background investigation and drug screening to include pre-employment and random thereafter.
