Basic Purpose

Provide clinical and case‑management services for juvenile offenders, including rehabilitation and public protection. Responsibilities include intake, probation, parole, custodial care, and family support within a Juvenile Justice facility, performing both program delivery and client intervention.

Compensation

• Level I – $40,500 annually
• Level II – $46,500 annually

Education and Experience

Level I

• Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science or equivalent.
• Or a bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience in juvenile justice, social work, community prevention/diversion, guidance, counseling, correctional case management, or probation and parole.

Level II

• Master’s degree in a behavioral science, juris doctorate, or equivalent.
• Or a bachelor’s degree with one year of professional experience in the same fields.
• Or a bachelor’s degree with two years of professional experience in the same fields.

Responsibilities

• Carry a differentiated caseload and provide services and supervision to youths in custody, probation, or parole.
• Conduct intake interviews, develop treatment plans, and coordinate health screening.
• Provide individual and group counseling, recommend and implement placements, and monitor services in out‑of‑home and community settings.
• Prepare reports for courts, the District Attorney’s office, and the Parole Board; testify as an expert witness and act as a liaison with the court.
• Develop and implement contracts with private nonprofit and for‑profit entities; coordinate service delivery.
• Serve as a liaison to facilities, agencies, schools, and community councils.
• Conduct foster care studies and recruit foster parents.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to recommend treatment methodologies and prepare clinical treatment plans.
• Develop expertise in specialized areas such as HIV/AIDS education, substance abuse counseling, or sexual offense treatment.
• Apply for Title XIX and Title IV‑E funding for custody juveniles.
• Provide detention screening and coordinate placement with law enforcement.
• Advocate, present, or serve as an administrative hearing officer in due process hearings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of juvenile justice laws, regulations, and policies.
• Understanding of developmental stages, family dynamics, and cultural diversity.
• Ability to perform crisis intervention, casework management, courtroom testimony, and effective communication.
• Ability to develop, evaluate, and modify intervention plans and maintain constructive relationships with clients and courts.
• For Level II: additional knowledge of contracting for juvenile services and foster care statutes.

Special Requirements

• Willingness to travel as required, possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license at appointment, and be on‑call for 24/7 availability.
• Must pass a background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting.
• Include a 12‑month trial period.
