Job summary

Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care for detained youths under supervision. The role requires confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and coordination with physicians and mental health staff.

Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, specimen collection, and emergency response within a secure facility. Weekend hours with on-call duties are included, with potential for flexible weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Six years of pediatric/school nurse or juvenile correctional facility nursing experience.
• Current RN license in Nebraska or a compact state; active and in good standing.
• BLS/CPR certification maintained throughout employment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to SOPs, policies, and directives.
• Complete medical histories and physical assessments; confirm medication orders.
• Collect laboratory specimens and dispense medications as directed by physician.
• Coordinate care for detainees with special needs and disabilities.
