Job summary

National Police in Kentucky seeks a supervisory staff member to oversee residents at the Neaves-Davis Center for Children and ensure daily logs are accurate and legible. You will supervise all resident activities, including meals, school, and recreation, while maintaining order and addressing disciplinary issues.

This role also requires transporting juveniles to appointments, providing crisis counseling when needed, and potential overnight or 3rd shift work.

Qualifications

• Must pass a physical exam.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• The person in this position must read and write English and follow oral and written instructions.
• Background check for PREA and related clearance is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all activities of the residents at the center to include meals, rest periods, personal cleanliness, recreational periods, school, and all other daily activities as required.
• Must also be able to maintain order and deal with disciplinary problems if required.
• Prepares observation, incident and behavior reports as required and ensures that all information in the daily logbook is legible and correct.
• Transports juveniles to and from scheduled appointments (e.g. court hearings, medical, dental, other detention facilities, etc.).
• In some situations, employees may provide crisis counseling to calm volatile situations.
• May be called upon to work overnight shifts if needed.
• Must be able to work 3rd shift if required.
