Job summary

Washington County Government is seeking a Juvenile Detention Officer to manage the daily operation of the Juvenile Detention Center. The role provides a safe, secure, and caring environment for up to 36 juveniles aged 10–18 and requires working overnight weekends.

Shifts are 40 hours per week, 10-hour days, Friday through Monday 9pm–7am, with on-call duties for emergencies and sick coverage. Applicants must meet background and security clearance requirements and may be subject to testing.

Qualifications

• Must pass a criminal background check and obtain security clearances where required.
• Subject to pre-employment and reasonable suspicion testing; this position may require a drug test for certain promotions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the daily operation of the Juvenile Detention Center and maintain a safe, secure, and caring environment for up to 36 juveniles ages 10–18.

• Uphold facility rules, safety protocols, and orderly conduct of residents while ensuring humane treatment.
