Job summary

The Oregon Judicial Department is seeking a Juvenile Legal Policy Advisor to support juvenile court programs by analyzing proposed legislation, laws, rules, and policies statewide. You will draft legal forms, instructions, and training materials, and collaborate with judges, staff, and external stakeholders.

You will also provide legislative support, develop new juvenile programs, and participate in committees and grant-related activities.

Qualifications

• Jurist Doctorate required with active Oregon State Bar membership.
• Experience with juvenile law or juvenile court programs preferred.
• Ability to analyze statutes, rules, and policies and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposed legislation and current laws, rules, and policies affecting juvenile courts.
• Develop and improve juvenile programs to enhance outcomes for youth and families.
• Draft legal forms, instructions, and training materials for judges and staff.
• Provide legislative support, draft fiscal impact statements, and participate in related work groups.
• Staff the Juvenile Court Improvement Advisory Committee and related subcommittees.
