Qualifications

• 6+ months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen as per law.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Credential Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and assist visitors with professionalism. You will use technology to support badge and access processes, communicate clearly with staff and guests, and help maintain an orderly environment. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to government facility entrances, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-related logs.
• Observe and report unusual activity, prohibited items, access concerns, and policy violations in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
