State of Indiana is hiring a Correctional Officer for LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility. The role supports a secure, structured environment for juvenile females, with 12-hour shifts and a biweekly pay period. The base pay starts at $22/hour, with potential for higher pay for experienced candidates.

Qualifications

• At least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.
• Must test negative on all drug screenings.
• Ability to work with and around incarcerated individuals per DOC mission statement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain your own personal safety and the safety of all staff and incarcerated individuals.
• Monitor assigned areas for security of incarcerated individuals and buildings.
• Follow and ensure compliance with established security procedures.
• Escort incarcerated individuals to and from various locations across the facility.
• Keep records and make reports on incarcerated individuals' movements and rule violations.
• Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function.
