Job summary

The Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth (CFSY) invites applications for the Fall 2026 internship, a remote or hybrid, part-time 12-week term. Interns work up to 19 hours per week and report to the Outreach & Advocacy Associate, with college credit eligibility provided upon successful completion.

Duties include responding to letters from incarcerated individuals, assisting with communications projects, and providing program support and administrative tasks across departments.

Qualifications

• Commitment to criminal and juvenile justice issues in the United States
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Google Office applications; Salesforce a plus
• Strong writing abilities; ability to complete a brief writing assignment during interviews
• Willingness to work as part of a team and across departments
• Availability for multiple semesters is encouraged

Responsibilities

• Respond to letters and inquiries from incarcerated individuals.
• Administrative tasks including data entry and using Salesforce, Microsoft Word & Excel, and Mailchimp.
• Represent CFSY at juvenile and criminal justice meetings/events (virtual or in-person).
• Assist with donor prospect research.
• Support communications, partnerships, and movement-building projects.
• Provide research support for the legal/policy team.
• Assist with event planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
