Job summary

Coastal Horizons is looking for an Enhanced TASC Peer Support Specialist to provide essential support to justice-involved individuals with mental health diagnoses. This full-time position emphasizes mentoring, treatment engagement, and overcoming barriers to healthcare and housing.

Ideal candidates will have lived experience with mental health issues and relevant qualifications, including a High School Diploma and Peer Support Certification. The role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to recovery principles.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
• At least two years of recovery required.
• Preference for those with experience working with justice-involved individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and mentoring to justice-involved individuals.
• Assist clients in engaging in behavioral health treatment.
• Support individuals in overcoming barriers related to social determinants of health.

Skills

Knowledge of wellness, recovery, and peer support principles.

Strong communication skills.

Organizational skills.

Time-management skills.

Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

Ability to establish rapport.

Education
