Synergy Business Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to align campus and enterprise networking with strategic goals. You will design, implement, and support complex switching and wireless environments, ensuring uptime and security across critical applications.

You will manage projects, produce documentation, and collaborate with architects to maintain roadmaps while providing hands-on troubleshooting and operational support as needed.

Formación

• Advanced knowledge in Juniper, Brocade and IOS.
• Advanced knowledge in routing protocols OSPF, BGP or ISIS.
• Advanced knowledge root cause analysis and remediation to avoid future outages.
• Advanced knowledge Wireless design and support.
• Advanced knowledge in IP Multicast.
• Advanced knowledge of VoIP implementation and support.
• Experience with Juniper Mist is a big plus.

Responsabilidades

• Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure network systems meet University and end user requirements, with emphasis on stability and security.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of Network Engineering (IP Routing, Ethernet Switching, VPN, etc.).
• Configures and setup Firewalls/Security appliances for access to vital business applications.
• Designs, configures complex switching environments.
• Designs, configures complex wireless networking supporting open or secured access and voice/video apps.
• Creates and maintains technical documentation for use by the network operations and support teams.
• Manages assigned projects and program components to deliver services per objectives.
• Responds to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors for technical assistance.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and software applications and security systems to resolve issues.
• Troubleshoots network performance problems using analyzers and packet capture technologies.
• Administers and documents in-house network monitoring solutions.
• Researches and develops new architectures and proof-of-concept evaluations.
• Serves as project manager for IT Infrastructure-related initiatives when required.
• Performs disaster Recovery simulation pre-planning and on-site support as needed.
• Acts as operational and backup recovery support.
• Special Requirement: Available on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Completes special projects as assigned and performs other duties as required.

Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure network systems meet University and end user requirements, with an emphasis on network stability and security. Provides technology roadmaps governed by strategic direction, business requirements as well as resourcing and financial constraints. Liaises with enterprise, server, and applications architects to ensure alignment across technology portfolios.

1. Maintains a thorough understanding of Network Engineering (IP Routing, Ethernet Switching, VPN, etc.).

2. Configures and setup Firewalls/Security appliances for access to vital business applications.

3. Designs, configures complex switching environments.

4. Designs, configures complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications.

5. Creates and maintains technical documentation for use by the network operations and support teams.

6. Manages assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.

7. Responds to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.

8. Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and software applications and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.

9. Troubleshoots Network performance problems through the use of network analyzers and packet capturing technologies.

10. Administration and documentation support for in-house network monitoring solutions.
