Salary Range: $86,000-$101,000 USD per year

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a weapons effects analyst at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, MD. You will work on world‑class military programs that support the US Navy's Warfare technology as part of the Weapons Effect and Analysis Branch. The applicant will work as part of the Modeling and Simulation team supporting work on assessing lethality and weapon effects of fielded and emerging weapons utilizing advanced high‑fidelity hydrocode simulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

• Familiarity with a variety of programming languages and styles, including graphical oriented MATLAB and object oriented (C++, Python, Fortran, Linux operating systems)
• Familiarity with digital signal processing techniques
• Background/experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and/or computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
• Familiarity with high‑fidelity hydrocodes (desired, but not required)
• Experience with PowerPoint, MS Word & Excel
• A self‑starter able to work on tasks individually or as part of a small technical team
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writing
• Some minimal travel may be required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation is a plus.
