Battelle Memorial Institute is seeking an Early Career Vulnerability Researcher in the Columbus, OH area. You will tackle tough computing problems in small agile teams, contributing to cyber security projects using specialized software and hardware in a high-powered lab environment.

The role emphasizes developing software in C/C++ and scripting, analyzing networks and OS internals, and advancing research under IRAD with mentoring and growth opportunities.

Formación

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 0–2 years of experience, or Master's in a relevant field
• Develop software to run in user-mode or kernel-mode
• Ability to code in C or C++ and scripting languages
• Experience with PC and embedded systems architecture including boot processes and OS internals
• Familiarity with vulnerability research tools (IDA Pro, BinaryNinja, etc.)
• Understand network protocols and various assembly languages
• Experience with debuggers (WinDbg, OllyDbg, gdb, etc.)
• Experience with vulnerability research across OSes (Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, MacOS, etc.)
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of mitigation techniques (DEP, ASLR)
• Familiarity with fuzzers
• Must be a sole US citizen with ability to obtain US government security clearance

Responsabilidades

• Compile and evaluate design and test data for electrical/electronic systems
• Prepare technical specifications and analyze data to determine limits and variables
• Assist interpretation of results and draft sections of technical reports
• Complete project work within schedule and budget constraints
