Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Utility Designer to provide technical design support for utility layout on residential and commercial land development projects. You will prepare construction drawings, exhibits, and permit applications for electric and gas distribution, collaborating with engineers and project managers.

Responsibilities include producing design drawings, using ArcGIS for spatial analysis, coordinating with teams, and ensuring QA/QC compliance.

Qualifications

Associate degree in CAD, GIS, Civil Engineering Tech, or related field.
Experience supporting utility design or coordination preferred.
Proficiency with ArcGIS for mapping and data analysis; knowledge of electric and gas distribution design standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and revise utility design drawings and construction documents per standards.
Use ArcGIS to create, edit, and analyze spatial data for utility layouts.
Coordinate with project teams to design electric and gas distribution systems.
Apply QA/QC procedures and agency checklists for accuracy and compliance.
Interpret sketches and field data to plan constructible layouts.
Track project progress and communicate with managers.
Coordinate permit applications with relevant agencies.
Maintain organized work area and support collaboration.
