Job summary

Allstate is seeking an experienced attorney to manage insurance defense litigation from inception to verdict in the Northern Virginia area. You will lead case assessments, discovery, depositions, motions, and courtroom advocacy while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

The ideal candidate holds a JD, is admitted to the Virginia State Bar, and demonstrates strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception to verdict.
• Conduct initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions.
• Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Interview clients and witnesses; draft statement summaries and maintain communication records.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings; represent the company or clients in routine matters as needed.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update the legal team on potential impacts.
• Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs.
• Provide legal opinions to claims clients
• Conduct depositions and examinations under oath and prepare summary documents
• Provide counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams
