Job summary

BCD Travel is seeking a Junior Developer, Travel Automation in a hybrid role based in Austin, TX. You will work on applications supporting Global Travel, Meetings & Events, delivering enhancements and bug fixes to boost agent productivity and reduce errors.

Responsibilities include scoping work, testing, API integrations, and integrating SQL-based data across products while adhering to department standards. You will learn Sabre GDS and participate in peer reviews and guideline compliance.

Qualifications

• Programming experience in Python, Swift, or an equivalent language.
• Travel reservations and process experience.
• Working knowledge of Sabre GDS technology (training will be delivered).
• Working knowledge of database integrations to other products, SQL, and experience with API integrations.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and process reengineering skills.
• Proficient computer skills and project management knowledge.
• Good people skills and ability to work with diverse cultures.

Responsibilities

• Develop 'scope of work' including the estimated level of effort and delivery date for requests.
• Program requirements per department standards and best practices.
• Perform comprehensive testing on programming tasks.
• Code must pass peer review and QA testing before delivery to end users.
• Program and customize global travel agency desktop routines for automation initiatives.
• Provide proactive and consultative front and mid office development to increase agent productivity and reduce errors.
• Create and enhance the mid-office automation library including testing and posting new versions.
• Learn and adhere to department guidelines and procedures.
• Manage time effectively to work on multiple requests concurrently and deliver per SLA.
