Job Title: Junior to Mid-Level Litigation Associate

Role: Associate in Employment Litigation

The firm’s employment litigation group is well respected for its expertise at all levels of litigation from inception through trial and appeals. This position is for an attorney with 1-4 years’ experience to join the Employment Litigation team in our Stamford, CT office, representing for-profit companies, not-for-profit organizations, financial and educational institutions, and municipal entities in all manners of employment litigation. We are looking for a bright attorney and an excellent writer who is highly motivated and proactive – someone with the willingness and capability to act independently and is comfortable with client interaction.

Responsibilities
  1. Work collaboratively with senior litigators to develop litigation strategy for the defense of employment actions;
  2. Draft and review pleadings, discovery, memos, briefs, and other legal correspondence and litigation documents;
  3. Analyze employment records;
  4. Represent clients in court and before administrative agencies;
  5. Participate in depositions, conferences, hearings, trials, and all other aspects of employment litigation;
  6. Interact with employment experts;
  7. Conduct legal and employment research and analysis;
  8. Draft motions;
  9. Work cooperatively with others;
  10. Interact with clients.
Education and Experience Required
  1. At least one year of experience in litigation (preferably employment litigation);
  2. J.D.;
  3. Admitted to Connecticut bar.
Skills and Abilities Required
  1. Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills;
  2. Ability to interact with clients and command client confidence;
  3. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects;
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  5. Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $95,000 - $130,000, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
