Job summary

Buckeye Partners is seeking an Apprentice Terminal Operator in Council Bluffs to learn the operation and maintenance of terminal, pipeline, marine, and rail assets handling petroleum products. This role starts with hands-on training and gradual responsibility within a safety-focused environment.

The successful candidate will develop knowledge of receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory control, while complying with environmental and regulatory requirements and supporting our Asset Team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2+ years related experience in terminal, pipeline or marine operations preferred.
• General understanding of pumps, meters, truck loading rack, and dock facilities preferred.
• Familiarity with computerized inventory control systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Train and apply knowledge for maintenance of terminal loading rack, storage and related equipment; keep it in good order.
• Learn receipt, storage, and distribution of petroleum products via pipeline, rail, and marine dock.
• Become knowledgeable of terminal regulations and environmental, safety directives, and procedures.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and communicate issues to management.
• Respond to inquiries from terminal customers and assist in emergencies after training.
