Job summary

Visionist, Inc. seeks Junior Systems Engineers to join our team at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance is required as we prepare for award of a PRIME contract.

You will advance maritime domain awareness by enhancing global ship tracking using Multi-INT fusion and state-of-the-art analytics. You will work within small engineering teams, supported by analysts, to rapidly identify and solve mission capability gaps and to strengthen U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; higher education may substitute years of experience.
  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience in satellite, communications, or Multi-INT systems.
  • Experience in system design, integration, and performance evaluation.
  • Strong skills in concept development, mission planning, and systems analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop and flow down system requirements across subsystems.
  • Broad technical knowledge to ensure compatibility across components.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving innovative R&D initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support system development, integration, and evaluation of satellite and communications systems, focusing on Multi-INT data fusion.
  • Assess and demonstrate new system concepts and their effectiveness for mission goals.
  • Plan, organize, and execute advanced system planning for assigned missions or programs.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of current and future capabilities; define requirements to meet long-term objectives.
  • Generate and recommend innovative concepts and technical approaches with operational impact.
  • Define system-level and subsystem-level requirements ensuring overall system integrity.
  • Provide leadership and direction for advanced R&D efforts to achieve next-gen capabilities.

Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance is required. Visionist is bidding on an upcoming PRIME contract and, in anticipation of award, we’re seeking Junior Systems Engineers to join our team at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. You will advance the future of maritime domain awareness by enhancing global ship tracking systems. You’ll leverage state-of-the-art analytics, multi-INT fusion, and cutting-edge technologies to detect and disrupt illicit activities at sea—including smuggling, trafficking, illegal fishing, and waste dumping—while also preventing terrorism, securing global commerce, and strengthening U.S. homeland defense. Salary range: $85,000 - $150,000
